Our History
In 1990, a mission congregation was established by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America,
and was named Celebration Lutheran Church. Worship services began in May, 1991, at the Kirtland High School.
On May 16, 1993, we officially organized as a Lutheran congregation.
About one month later, on June 10th, the Northeast Ohio Synod of the ELCA accepted us as a member congregation.
The year 1995 marked two important events in our history due to growth in the congregation membership.
The first event was adding a second worship service time.
The second was starting a capital fund campaign for constructing our own
church building.
On Sunday, August 15, 1998, we broke ground for the construction of our 8,700-square-foot facility.
Very shortly afterwards, on Palm Sunday, 1999, we held the first service in our new church.
