Sunday Volunteers


An easy, no-risk way to volunteer is on Sundays when you are going to be here anyway! On an average Sunday morning, we utilize 25 individuals of all ages.

These volunteer positions are available for all worship participants (regardless of “membership”) at both worship times, unless specified. Children (2nd-6th grades) are welcome to be part of any of these ministries, although lean towards the ones with an *. In alphabetical order...


*Acolyte:Assists the Pastor by lighting the candles, helping set the Table for Communion, and gathering the offering. This involves some special training: contact the church office with interest.


Altar Care: Prepares bread and wine, plate and cup before worship for Communion and straightens up after worship. This involves hands on training: contact the church office with interest.


Bread Baker:This is actually an “at home” ministry which is a great way for an entire family to be part of the process. Volunteers bake a month's worth of bread for Communion with a recipe is from Luther Seminary. If you need more information, contact the office. Signup here.


Communion Assistant:Helps distribute Communion at late worship only by holding the chalice of wine. On the job training just Volunteer.


Counter:For those of you who love counting money! This ministry counts our weekly offering after late worship. On the job training; contact office if you are new to this ministry.


*Greeter:Welcomes everyone as they walk through the front door. Read more here.


Lay Assistant:Assists the Pastor with the liturgy, most especially by writing prayers. This involves specialized training: contact the pastor.


Reader:Reads the scriptures for the day. These are delivered to the reader the week before they read. Read more here.


Refreshments:For those of you with the gift of hospitality, this ministry provides snacks and drink after each worship. Read more here.


Usher:Welcomes people to worship, hands out worship bulletins, helps people find seats and get to communion, collects the offering during worship. Read more here.
